I am having one of "those" days.. where I don't quite know what is wrong but whatever it is is NOT nice. I am such a crabby old bear and for no reason. I woke up that way.
Could be I am tired of poking my darn finger 3 times a day; could be I want to eat everything that is bad for me; could be I haven't had any alone time since First part of August.. or it could be worry for my son's girlfriend. She has an 11 mm lesion on her liver.. the ultrasound was taken in December/January..somewhere there... and she is only finding out about it now so it could have grown quite a bit. She has to wait now for a CT appointment... Maybe it is just a build up of all of the above.. whatever it is .. JUST STAY THE HECK OUTTA MY FACE.
I did get all the vacuuming done and a bunch of other cleaning done while I watched Brad Gushue get beat at curling. He is my special curler... Guess I'll have to wait to see him win next year.
Only 6 days until Spring.. so tonight it is going to start to snow... 2 - 4 CM and then periods of snow thereafter for about 3 days. Mother Nature has such a sense of humor, doesn't she????

MIA
Yes, I have actually been MIA since my last entry... I was getting bored with what I had to write. I still have nothing exciting to write about...
My sister's foster daughter and her boyfriend lost their home ( a rented mobile home ) to fire last week.. They lost everything.. She and her two small children were not home when it happened.. and HE was at work... BUT her oldest son was home from school with the flu.. Luckily he was laying on the couch and not back in his room cuz he would still be there.. The fire started in the front bedroom ( the master bedroom) they think. Anyway, on a normal day she would have left the two little ones with the older one who is 13 but they asked to go with her so she took them.. I hate to even think what might have happened had they been home.... The older son's dad was burned in a trailer fire 13 years ago.. so I can imagine the horror when she heard her trailer was on fire.
Anyway, I guess they have found a place to live starting on March 15, so they are living in a motel for now.
I've had some health issues going on but hopefully I'm getting them under control.. the breathing problem I'm concerned about.
Only about 22 days until Spring but the temperature sure doesn't indicate that... it is DAMNED cold. But I really hope March comes in like a lion so we can ease into spring slowly. No Blizzard please. Last April we had a horrible blizzard so hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.
And that is all I have to say for this entry.. I might be more talkative in the spring.

Potty Talk--Do not read if it grosses you out LOL
I just don't understand my body.. one day I have the runs so bad that I have a burning ring of fire... and then next I am so constipated that I need an ice pick to dig it out... Today I am in the constipated state. I am eating lots of fibre but a little..no make that a lot ... short on exercise so I think that could be my problem... It is much too icy to go walking and besides I don't feel like it.. IF I had an interesting walking partner instead of a groaning old woman who can't find anything nice about anything, I might enjoy walking.
Anyway, on to other topics... Mom and I went over town today. I wanted to see IF the grocery store was having a caselot sale this week.. it isn't... and because it is my $21 challenge week I didn't spend much.. I ended up spending $12.12 leaving me with $8.88 for the remainder of the week. I hope I can do it. I CAN if I don't go over town but once I get there I usually think of something I WANT...not need.
Next topic.. Library.. Went there to see if my book called The Flat Belly Diet had come in..It hasn't yet.. I ordered it in September. Anyway, there was a couple audio books come in that the librarian thought mom MIGHT enjoy so she let me sign them out. One story has 19 cds so that is about 19 hours of listening and the 2nd one has 7 cds. I think . So she is okay for a few days anyway.
Next topic...My daughter popped in here this afternoon. I had seen she was across the street.. She cleans her friend's duplex once a week. I didn't expect her to come over but was pleasantly surprised when she did.
And the last topic of the day........Biggest Loser show... I have set myself a goal of not snacking while watching the show. I usually sit and nibble on cheerios or cheezies or something.. I didn't realise HOW HARD this challenge would be... as soon as they tell them not to snack, right away I wanna go grab a snack. So there is something in those words, DO NOT SNACK... I don't like taking orders and I need to figure out why.
And on that note I am going to get my water from the freezer and suck back on that while I watch starting at 6.

Another Day; Same old Same old
another hohum day except I actually DID something today.... yup, I did 3 loads of laundry. Hung them up to dry in the basement to put some moisture in the air...
And today I started a $21 a week pantry/freezer challenge. The only way I would spend more than that is if our grocery story has a Caselot sale. I NEED mushroom soup and cereal. Other than that I don't need anything. Maybe some milk later in the week.
And that is as exciting as my day got today

HAPPY!! HAPPY!! HAPPY!!! OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES!!

This was taken January 17, 2009The sun is shining and has been all day long... The snow has really gone down from yesterday. I don't how to put in pictures so that they beside each other OR in the correct order so just bear with me...
Anyway, trust me, the snow has REALLY gone down and I'm happy. Now when it snows again I will have somewhere to throw it off the driveway.
This morning my daughter texted me and said that my low fat fruit and fiber muffins were in so I went over to the grocery store.. forgetting that it was Sunday and they don't open until 11AM so I came back home. Mom was glad I think cuz she wanted to go walking in the grocery store. Too icy outside for her. So we ended up buying groceries for her. I picked up 4 packets of Spaghetti sauce mix.. I like it better than homemade or canned spaghetti sauce.
We came home and each went to our corners of the house for the afternoon. I thought she was going to nap cuz she always does but I guess she didn't...and I tried to nap but couldn't so I played a game on the computer for awhile. Then I went upstairs and made bacon,lettuce and tomato sandwiches for supper.. Just finished eating and my sister showed up. Mom got all startled cuz she was here on a Sunday so there MUST be something wrong and I wonder what it is, etc. Turns out that my sister's foster girl, her man and their kids was on their way home from their trip to DisneyWorld and their van broke down not far from my sister's house so she called and asked if she could bring them to Grimshaw so she did that, dropped them off at home and came here for a quick visit. I was able to send a bunch of stuff with her so that emptied MY home a bit.
Now I am back in the basement waiting for 5 pm to arrive so I can watch Desperate Housewives and then back to trying to win my game. I gotta enjoy the games I have cuz I cannot Crack anymore games. The Cracker isn't working. LOL
And on that note I am going to cuddle up in my easy chair with my cup of coffee and wait impatiently for DHousewives to come on.

Waiting...
Seems I am always waiting for something or someone... Tonight I am waiting for the landlord to arrive. He is coming to pick up the rent cheques. I emailed him this morning to ask if I should deposit January's cheque into a bank account or what... He usually picks up a whole year of postdated cheques in January and since January was half over I was wondering if plans had changed.
He asid he would be here between 5:30 and 6.. it is now almost 6:30.. His 4 pm meeting must have gone over. Sure am glad I don't have any plans.
Today was a gorgeous day.. and even now at 6:30 it is still +39 F.. and the wind is blowing nicely. The snow really shrunk today.
Yup, I was right.. his meeting went over... so I sweetly told him that it was okay and then I told him that this spring we needed the patio screen door replaced or something done with it... Last summer we just turned it upside down but it wouldn't work for me. I really think the patio doors have warped so he might have a problem with it. But that is not my problem.. which is why I rent. LOL
Well, nothing good on TV tonight so I guess I'll read my Living on a Dime books I ordered. I got a whole set... Menus on a Dime; Dining on a Dime Cook Book;Penny Pinchin' Mama; Dig out of Debt.......... that was my Christmas gift to me. All those books were on sale for $21.95 US.. and ended up costing me about $56 with shipping.
