New Year's Eve!!

I have NEVER had opportunity to celebrate with anyone on New Year's Eve... My hubby was older than me by quite a few years and would always be asleep long before the New Year was rang in and now that he has passed away I STILL don't go out anywhere.
I DO know that I am heading to bed early myself. I was up much earlier than normal today. My kids were up and getting ready to leave by 6 AM... Well, by the time they showered, etc. it was 8 AM before they left.. I could have slept for another 2 hours. haha
We had a dump of snow.. weather guy is calling it an Alberta Clipper........... AND he said we are going to share it with Saskatchewan and then Manitoba.. won't they love us hey???
Boy I can't believe how terrible these guys and gals who think they are soooooo funny on Just for Laughs... absolutely sick and boring... And there doesn't seem to be anything else worth watching either.
A very good night to go to bed early me thinks...
And on that note, with nothing exciting to chat about anyway, I'll close for tonight.

Well I am afraid I didn't get to write last night... my fosterson and his girlfriend came to spend the night here.. so she and I sat visiting while HE sat pouting ( I guess that is what you would call it). He wouldn't answer questions with anything but 1 syllable answers and finally he got up and went outside for a cigarette. Came back in and went to their room..so Krissy and I just kept on visiting and playing on our computers until it was MY bedtime. Was very nice chatting with her. I LIKE HER and he is crazy to give her up.. That IS what is happening apparently, although I know she loves him.. She said I was still going to be her other mom no matter what.. They have been together 6 years now. Somehow she grew up and he didn't...
It is a chilly one here today... it isn't even 5 pm and the temp is -17F . I was just out and the air feels like jabbing ice crystals even though it isn't snowing or anything.
I must remember to set the garbage out tomorrow. I missed it last week cuz no one let us know that garbage pickup was set for a day earlier than normal due to Christmas being on our regular garbage day.
Well I just got a text that the kids are coming back tonight to stay overnight and then they are heading back to work early in the morning so I should get off here.

82 Days Until Spring

Spring!!! I can hardly wait.. I am tired of my houseplants and I want outdoor green NOW... I might have to get a can of green spray paint though because the weather is calling for periods of snow for Tuesday or Wednesday... Phooey!!

Well, my cat sitting job will be done tomorrow instead of into January.. Barb decided to come home a week early so she could get some rest. Seems she had a battle with a flu bug in the city. I shall miss Heri and Honor.. well, not Honor because she is an antisocial ball of fluff... Yup, I have been going over daily since December 18 to feed and water and scoop poop and have only seen Honor twice. She was hiding behind the couch but has since moved to a cubby under the stairs, I think.

My son and his girl friend, Krissy, might be here tomorrow for a short time. David has the flu and doesn't want to pass it to my mom.. He didn't mention me, so I guess he doesn't care if I get it. haha They are heading back to Lac La Biche to work in the bush. David is the mechanic/gopher and Krissy runs a skidder. They don't have to be back until January 2 or 3 but David told mom on the phone today that they like to get back a couple days ahead and just rest up. I am looking forward to seeing them.. they haven't been here since October.

Well, I am on my way to bed.. I was really.. and then I remembered I hadn't blogged.. Not sure if I will be able to find anything to chat about daily or not... We shall see, I guess.

Another Exciting Day

NOT!!! I got up and saw that it had snowed a bit so I put my shovel outside to cool off.. I find it much easier to shovel if my shovel is cold.. The snow doesn't stick to it. How I wish I didn't have to bring it inside each time but town living isn't safe compared to out on the farm. There one didn't even have to lock the door. Oh well, I might as bloom where I am planted and just enjoy my life.

Anyway, I am cat sitting my neighbor's cats so I cleaned off her walk as well. Then I did the cat chores and came home. Mom wasn't feeling well yesterday so I was keeping an eye on her to see if she okay now. She tends to try to hide how she feels so if I sit quiet and pretend to read I can usually see if she is limping ( she has what she calls arthritis feet).. but she won't go see a doctor to get something to help. Anyway, she wasn't limping today.. but she slept a long time this afternoon.
She was REALLY excited because my sister came for a visit. Mom sure misses her since she moved away from here.

Everyone keeps talking and asking if I am making any New Years Resolutions and I keep telling them I am NOT... because I never keep them anyway and then I feel like a loser. So the best way to feel good about one's self is to not bother with setting goals. But if I must make a resolution I RESOLVE to NOT buy lottery tickets this year. That should be easy to fulfill since I never buy them anyway.

Just had a phone call from the neighbor lady for whom I am cat sitting... she has changed her mind about coming home January 3 and is coming home Monday. So now I guess I have to pay her back half the money she paid me.. Was supposed to cat sit for 2 weeks but it won't be that long. Oh well, it was nice to at least FEEL the money. haha

Tomorrow I am going to boil up the chicken bones and make soup.. I love soup and eat some daily at noon. And sometimes I make up extra broth with just barley, onions and grated carrots and have it for snack when I get hungry between meals. I didn't want to do it yesterday because I know how I feel when I am ill and someone starts cooking something.. it makes me nauseous. So hopefully we are both feeling great tomorrow.

I'm not sure if the kids are coming tomorrow or if they will wait until Monday. Krissy said she thought maybe they would come Monday.. She needs to see a doctor in town. She works in the bush running a skidder and has been feeling nasty for awhile.

Well, I am getting tired so I best get off here...

A New Beginning

Well, A new year is on its way and I thought I'd join ranks with all the other Bloggers out there. I NEVER do resolutions anymore because they taunt me.
I'm going to make this short tonight as it is almost 11:30 pm here in Alberta. So have a good evening where ever you may be.
